FEB to celebrate 10th anniversary with major celebrations
Ten years ago, the Faculty of Economic Sciences and the Faculty of Management and Organization merged and were reborn as the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB). In honour of this anniversary, FEB is organizing major celebrations including lectures from FEB professors and guests from the business world, improv comedy and music. All FEB supporters are warmly invited to the Duisenberg Building on Friday 1 September to celebrate the anniversary.
‘The Next Step’
The anniversary theme is ‘Innovation and Creativity – The Next Step’. During ‘My Next Step’, inspired by the TV programme Zomergasten, presenter Sofie van den Enk will interview Roelof Joosten (director of Friesland Campina) and Vivienne van Eijkelenborg (businesswoman of the year 2016). With the help of a number of clips they have chosen themselves, they will talk about what has inspired them and how they got to where they are today. UG scientists will also debate ‘innovation’ with experts from the business world, and a number of FEB professors will hold 10-minute mini lectures.
Wide-ranging programme
FEB has designed a varied programme for its anniversary that includes local and nationally renowned names. As well as the lectures there will be music from My Baby (Amsterdam) and The Cool Quest (Groningen). Improv comedy group Stranger Things Have Happened will perform and there will also be activities for children.
More information
More information, including the full programme, can be found on the event’s website . Entry is free, but the number of places is limited. We therefore advise you to reserve tickets in advance.
