Members of the DC Rotary Club have brought together a coalition of leading DC institutions to organize the return of the world’s leading press photography exhibition to Washington this November. What is World Press Photo? Since 1955 World Press Photo organizes the most prestigious international press photography competition. Photographs submitted by the likes of AP, Getty, National Geographic and the Washington Post are transformed into a large exhibition that travels the world. Last year the exhibitions were visited by 4 million people in 100 cities across the globe. But not here in Washington. This despite the fact that DC is home to the leading people and organizations influencing virtually every topic depicted in the photographs.
