About us Working at the University of Groningen Dual Career Support

Frequently Asked Questions

I struggle to find work. Can you help me?

DCS can assist its job seeking spouses/partners of academic staff to optimize their job application materials, building their network and effectively presenting themselves in network meetings or application interviews. We do so by facilitating career workshops and individual sessions with a career counselor.

Will I be given preferential treatment for the internal positions of the UG as a spouse or partner of an academic staff?

All vacancies of support staff are first published 5 workdays on the UG website before they might be published externally. All members of staff and partners of academic staff have to be considered for these vacancies before they are published externally.

Does DCS guarantee a job inside or outside of UG as I register for its services?

UG spousal service does not guarantee a job placement. However, all our activities and events are intended to assist its members to improve their chances of finding employment both inside and outside of the university.
