How do you discuss difficult issues? How do you work together successfully despite differences of opinion? – By engaging in dialogue. Learn how to create a safe environment yourself and how to exchange different perspectives in a constructive way. The series of dialogues on social safety kicks off on Thursday 19 June with a “Walk & Talk.” The session starts at 11:00 AM and lasts until about 12:30 PM, and is for students and staff of the UG. Location: Academy building top of the stairs.

Walk along, talk along

What does social safety mean to you? What helps you feel like you belong in a group, class, or team? How do you notice when someone else is feeling unsafe? During this Walk & Talk, we will connect in pairs. Explore your own perspective, listen to another's and build shared understanding. We will create a safe space where you can offer  your own question or theme and learn from another's perspective. This dialogue session will be led in English.

Continuous conversation

Encouraging and facilitating an ongoing conversation is one of the central themes of the social safety programme. ‘With these monthly dialogues, we offer a setting of openness, space, respect and trust,’ says programme manager Anne-Marie Petter. ‘By having meaningful conversations with each other, we want to continue building a socially safe study and work environment in an active, instructive way.’
