Seven RUG proposals to get a Comenius grant!

Seven proposals submitted by UG lecturers have been awarded a Comenius grant. The Comenius programme plays a vital role in enhancing higher education in the Netherlands. A Comenius grant allows education professionals to implement innovative ideas in teaching. The program has three levels: Teaching Fellow, Senior Fellow, and Leadership Fellow.

Awarded projects

Congratulations to the colleagues who succeeded with their application! Out of the 16 applications submitted by the UGr, seven were positively assessed. In the 2026 Comenius round, the following projects were awarded: 

  • Senior Fellow / Dr. Liga Klavina (FBSS) “Access to Practice: Inclusive Professional Development Trajectories for all Students”

  • Teaching Fellow / Dr. ir. Luca M. Gelsomino (FEB) “ReValue: a transdisciplinary approach to supply chain management education”

  • Teaching Fellow / Rina F. de Vries, MSc, MA, SF HEA & Drs Georgette Coffeng (FEB) “Enhancing student employability through intercultural skills: developing a student-driven intercultural dilemma game for Study Abroad.”

  • Teaching Fellow / Assistant Professor Özlem Altınkaya Genel (FSS) "Students Curating Impact: Empowering Future Urban Planners through Living Labs"

  • Teaching Fellow / Stefania Boscari, Assistant Professor in Operations Management (FEB) "Embedding Diverse Perspectives and Inclusive Teamwork in Supply Chain Management Education"  

  • Teaching Fellow / Bahar Haghighat, Assistant Professor of Robotics and Automation (FSE)  “SwarmSense: Hands-On Swarm Robotics Education for Authentic Learning”

  • Teaching Fellow / Mihály Balogh Pharm.D., Ph.D., assistant professor of pharmacology  (FSE) “Adaptive and Gamified Case-Based Learning in Infectious Diseases and Oncology”
