Five UG/UMCG researchers receive MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships
Five researchers from the UG and UMCG were granted a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellowship. MSCA is a European funding scheme aimed at promoting researchers’ mobility. It provides funding for at least 2-year postdoctoral fellowships for researchers of any age, nationality and discipline.
The five projects that have been awarded to the UG/UMCG were awarded in the most competitive call in the 40-year history of the EU’s research and innovation framework programmes.
These are the 5 researchers selected by the European Commission to develop their research projects with their UG/UMCG supervisors:
-
Dr Sebastian Cuesta Hoyos (supervisor: Prof. Sandy Schmidt)
-
Dr Patricia Izquierdo Garcia (supervisor: Prof. Ben Feringa)
-
Dr Shavika Rastogi (supervisor: Prof. Elisabetta Chicca)
-
Dr Murillo Pagnotta (supervisors: Prof. Raoul Bongers and Dr Harjo de Poel)
-
Dr Jiayu Wang (supervisor: Prof. Anastasiia Krushynska)
The goal of the MSCA Postdoctoral Fellowships is to enhance the creative and innovative potential of researchers holding a PhD, wishing to acquire new skills through advanced training, international, interdisciplinary and intersectoral mobility. It is also interesting for senior researchers aiming at attracting promising fellows from all over the world, thus expanding their research capacity as well as building on their international network.
The next call for proposals will be published in April 2026. A UG training on how to prepare a good MSCA PF proposal will take place at the beginning of June.
