Academy building turns purple for Purple Friday

On 12 December it’s Purple Friday: a day on which we come together to show that everyone deserves to be themselves, regardless of sexual orientation, gender identity or expression. In schools across the country, teachers and students wear purple and organize activities. In this way, they speak out in favour of an inclusive society and against discrimination.

This year, the university once again shows its solidarity. As tradition has it, the Academy Building will be illuminated in purple, as a visible statement of support for students, staff, and visitors from the LGBTQIA+ community.

On 11 December, Campus Fryslân, together with the four other knowledge institutions in Friesland, is organising a special programme.
