Profile and application committee for new President approved by Supervisory Board

On 1 March 2018, the Supervisory Board appointed the application committee for the new President of the Board of the University of Groningen. The recruitment procedure has been approved by the application committee.

The application committee will recruit candidates on the basis of the profile approved by the Supervisory Board. The new President of the Board of the University will be appointed on 1 October 2018.

The application committee consists of the following members:

  • T.H.J. Joustra, Chair of the Supervisory Board of the University of Groningen (Chair of the application committee)
  • W. Reehoorn, member of the Supervisory Board of the University of Groningen and Chair of its Finance Audit Committee
  • A.S. Roeters, member of the Supervisory Board of the University of Groningen and Chair of its Quality Assurance Audit Committee
  • H.J.S. Wondergem, student representative of the University of Groningen, nominated by the University Council
  • Dr. K. Linke, staff representative of the University of Groningen, nominated by the University Council

The vacancy announcement was published on the 31st of march on the websites of the University of Groningen and Times Higher Education, as well as in the NRC Handelsblad and Dagblad van het Noorden newspapers. Holtrop Ravesloot Executive Search supports the University of Groningen with the search for the suitable candidate. We expect to make the appointment before the summer break.
