Best Practice 2020 provisionally awarded

18 December 2018

An important milestone for Best Practice 2020 has been passed: a supplier has been provisionally chosen to provide the new UG operational management system! The tender for the Finance and HR system has been provisionally awarded to AFAS. There were three bidders for the tender, all of which were assessed in terms of their user-friendliness, action plan and through practical evaluations. Scoring the highest on all three components, the choice was clear: AFAS was unanimously chosen as the winner.

From provisional to definitive

The award is provisional. This means that the objection period, in which other suppliers may register complaints, has begun. This period will cease on 14 January. If no complaints are registered in this period, the award will be made definitive after the decision is made by the Board of the University on 21 January. We can then start to prepare the implementation of the new system, which will become operational at the start of 2020.

Save the date: 24 January

On 24 January, all UG staff members are invited to attend a presentation of the new system. Here, the supplier AFAS will present the system, what it looks like and how it works. The day is split into two sessions: you can choose to attend either the morning programme from 9 a.m. to 12 noon, or the afternoon programme from 1 - 4 p.m. Both sessions contain the same information. The presentations will be held in Bernoulliborg and participants of either session can join the lunch between 12 noon and 1 p.m. Will you be there on 24 January? If so, please send an e-mail to bestpractice@rug.nl to sign up, stating which session you would like to attend and whether you will join the lunch. Put the date in your diary – you will receive more details about the programme one week beforehand.
