Results of the 2012 University Elections

On the afternoon of Tuesday 22 May, Rector Magnificus Elmer Sterken announced the results of the 2012 University Elections for student members of the University Council and the various Faculty Councils within the University of Groningen.

The students gathered in the Academia Restaurant were mainly eager to hear the results of the University Council elections. As of 1 September 2012 the division of students seats in the Council will be as follows: SOG 7 seats, GSb 1 seat and Lijst Calimero 4 seats. SOG gained a seat compared to the 2011 elections, at the cost of Lijst Calimero, which dropped from 5 to 4 seats.

The University Council elections had a turnout rate of 31.51%. The results of the elections for the various Faculty Councils can be found via the link below.

The elections for student members of the University Council and the various Faculty Councils within the University of Groningen were held in the period between Monday 7 and Monday 21 May 2012, and the results were finalized by the Central Voting Office on 22 May 2012.
