ENLIGHT–ETHYC Autumn School: Hydrogen Valley Experience
On 6–7 October 2026, the Wubbo Ockels School for Energy and Climate at the University of Groningen hosted the ENLIGHT–ETHYC Autumn School: The Hydrogen Valley Experience, welcoming participants from around the world to explore the opportunities and challenges of the hydrogen transition.
The two-day programme brought together legal, economic and business, highlighting the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration in developing a sustainable hydrogen economy.
Participants took part in academic lectures, interactive discussions and the We Energy Game, alongside visits to the Hydrohub at EnTranCe and Groningen Seaports. Contributions from researchers and industry partners, including HEAVENN and Gasunie, offered valuable insights into hydrogen developments in the Northern Netherlands.
The Autumn School provided an opportunity to connect academic knowledge with real-world developments, exchange international perspectives and build new connections across disciplines and institutions.
We thank all speakers, partners and participants for their contributions to two inspiring days of learning and exchange.
