The Wubbo Ockels School for Energy and Climate aims to generate tangible results and to have impact on the organization of research & teaching as well as on societal issues. Climate change and the energy transition are global issues.

We aim to achieve our mission Towards a greener and fairer energy transition and climate policy together in such a way that we are visible and have impact on the day-to-day reality of people.

The impact and visibility of the Wubbo Ockels School for Energy and Climate focuses on highly diverse target groups, varying from students and academics to representatives of government bodies, industry and the business world, as well as the general public. This visibility can take various shapes. In-person visibility could include exhibitions, conferences, symposia, workshops, and discussion groups, whereas examples of online visibility include news articles and social media.

The Wubbo Ockels School for Energy and Climate represents the University of Groningen in local, national, and international networks related to energy transition and climate change. With local partners, the School organises initiatives with citizens, stakeholders, academics and students to identify and solve societal challenges related to climate change and the energy transition.
