In the news: How do people decide, vote and act?
In the Netherlands, the elections for the Tweede Kamer are just around the corner and it's inhabitants are in the process of deciding who to vote for - and whether to vote at all. That brings rise to the question of how do people come to a decision? How do they decide who to vote for? Understanding political and cultural change requires knowledge on how we as human process information, perceive, learn and interact. But it also requires an understanding of what motivates us and how in the end we decide to act. Especially now, with the (perceived) rise of populism in the political arena, these questions become important in understanding how populist political parties feed into uncertainty and complex questions in society.
