Would you want to learn more about our Alumni? What do they do now?

Join us and Tom Barbereau, a UCG Alumni 2018, for a talk where he will share his knowledge and experience on the subject of decentralised ledger technologies (blockchain).

He will also talk about his inspiring story after UCG, his Master programme, an internship in a startup and why he took up the opportunity to do a PhD.

Tom Barbereau has a background in politics, economics, and philosophy (PPE) and the sociology of technologies. He obtained his BA in Liberal Arts & Sciences, from University College Groningen, in 2018. Thereafter, an internship at a company builder in Berlin, paved way to an MSc in Science & Technology Studies at the University of Edinburgh (Scotland), which he completed in 2020.

His current research focus is on decentralised ledger technologies (blockchain) and issues surrounding governance and management thereof. Beyond enterprise systems, he is also interested in questions on the transition from on- to off-chain governance mechanisms, principally in self-organising (public permissionless) systems (e.g. decentralised finance/DeFi and decentralised applications/DApps more broadly).

The session is intended for prospective and current UCG students!

In order to make it an interactive session, we invite you to ask questions. You can do this during the session and beforehand by filling in the form below. Our alumni are happy to answer all your questions during the session.
