Big Bang: The Science/Antiscience Annihilation

This project critically explores the heated and divisive discussions around the authority and role of science in the contemporary period.

The key domains of interest include but are not restricted to, the debates around climate change, vaccinations, evolution, GMO crops, the introduction of 5G networks, and the conspiracy theories surrounding these developments. As the recent ‘science wars’ are fought in electoral politics, in the traditional and social media, and across social and political divides, they invite the deployment of a variety of methodological tools including interviews, content/media analysis, and political discourse analysis.
