Development preference-based, mother-reported Infant Health Instrument, Nestlé (PI).
As part of a public-private partnership (UMCG Groningen - Nestlé Lausanne) we propose a novel methodology for valuing health states that relies on modern measurement theory (item response theory).
- This is a first attempt to develop a preference-based Health-Related Quality of Life (HRQoL) measurement instrument suitable for infants under 12 months of age. Currently, a few instruments are available to measure HRQoL in infant populations. However, to date none of these allow for calculating so-called preference-based values for specific health states (necessary for computing QALYs).
