1) Develop a description in terms of effective field theory of scattering processes at intermediate energies that are consistent with the symmetries and conservation laws of QCD.
2) Observe ultra-high energy neutrinos and cosmic rays throught the emission of radio waves when they impact on the lunar surface. Observation have been performed with the Westerborg Synthesis Radio Telescope and are being planned for LOFAR and SKA.
3) Develop a coherent model for the emission of radio waves from extensive airshowers emitted by high energy cosmic rays entering the atmosphere.
4) As part of the Cosmic Lightning project we investigate the effects of atmospheric electric fields on the development of Extensive Air Showers (EAS)as initiated by cosmic rays, and vise versa, the importance of EAS in the generation of atmospheric discharges (lightning).
