Nieuwenhout is involved in teaching and thesis supervision for the LLM programme Energy and Climate Law. She teaches in the course Energy Market Law and focuses on cross-border energy connections as well as competition law and state aid in the energy sector.

Next to this, she is involved in postgraduate teaching (Energierecht in de Praktijk) and is regularly invited to give guest lectures at other organisations.
