Title:

Form Factors in Asymptotically Safe Gravity

Abstract:

The Asymptotic Safety mechanism provides an interesting avenue towards obtaining a consistent and predictive quantum theory of gravity within the framework of quantum field theory. In this talk, I will give a pedagogical introduction to the program before explaining recent results related to the computation of graviton and matter propagators within the form factor program. The resulting consequences for the Newtonian gravitational potential and possible connections to non-local ghost-free gravity will be highlighted. The talk is based on two recent publications, L. Bosma, B. Knorr and F. Saueressig, arXiv:1904.04845 and B. Knorr, C. Ripken and F. Saueressig, arXiv:1907.02903.
