Studying landscape history

Practical education for a career as a landscape specialist.

During your study of landscape history at the Center for Landscape Studies, you will be introduced to a strongly interdisciplinary approach to landscape research. As a bachelor’s or master’s student you will be prepared for a career as a landscape specialist.

Master's degree in Landscape History

The one-year Master's in Landscape History focuses on the past, present and future of the Dutch and European landscape. Both university and college graduates are welcome in this interdisciplinary course.

During field practicals and excursions, you and your fellow students experience the cultural landscapes of the Netherlands and Europe (north-western Italy or southern England). You will discover Dutch country houses and landed estates. You are encouraged to do an internship in the Netherlands or abroad. At the end of your studies you will learn how to independently write a good scientific thesis.
