-
High-Energy Astrophysics and Active Galaxies (NW1, NW3)
Furthermore a substantial amount of effort goes into Advanced instrumentation and Data Science and Virtual Observatories. The Kapteyn institute is also closely involved in cross-disciplinary university research themes as well as interdisciplinary European research programs, namely:
-
Fundamentals of the Universe, a research theme within the University of Groningen, focused at studying the fundamental forces of Nature with implications for the Universe.
-
Data Science & Systems Complexity, a Marie Sklodowska-Curie COFUND action developed at the University of Groningen, which represents a research training programme for 10 PhD students focused at understanding and designing complex systems and processes through massive data.
