Inga Kamp appointed member of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities
Four professors from the University of Groningen have been appointed members of the Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities.
One of them is Prof. Inga Kamp, professor of astronomy at the Kapteyn Astronomical Insitute.
The Royal Holland Society of Sciences and Humanities (Dutch: Koninklijke Hollandsche Maatschappij der Wetenschappen - KHMW) was founded in 1752, and is the oldest academic society in the Netherlands. The KHMW aims to promote science and build bridges between science and society. They do this by awarding prizes, organizing lectures, debates, and symposia, and publishing publications, among other things. The KHMW is made up of scientific members and social members. New members are nominated by current members and appointed after careful selection.
The other three new members are Prof. Martijn Eickhoff, Prof. Merel Keijzer, and Prof. Marie-José van Tol of the University of Groningen.
