I&O Research

Director: Prof. Florian Noseleit

Research in the Innovation & Organization (I&O) Research Programme studies the resources, capabilities, and organisational practices that facilitate innovation and promote higher performance outcomes. Innovation and high performance outcomes require new, entrepreneurial organizational practices that may foster both collaboration within the firm and cooperation between firms. I&O research projects analyze such practices as relational contracting, networked organizations, team formation, and incentive and reporting structures, as well as ways of accounting for and controlling information exchange. The strategic use of an appropriate mix of these practices can assist firms to be innovative and thereby achieve higher performance outcomes. The I&O Research Programme integrates the work of scholars from the departments of Innovation Management & Strategy (IMS) and Accounting. The programme started in May 2010. During the past years, this research programme has evolved into a highly international research group with a strong focus on conducting research that has the potential to be published in top journals. Our ambition is to continue this steep growth path, further strengthening the national and international reputation of the I&O Research Programme. We strongly believe that, to realize this ambition, stimulating collaboration within and outside the programme is vital.
