Innovation & Organization
Research in the I&O research programme studies the resources, capabilities and organisational practices which facilitate innovation and promote higher performance outcomes. Innovation and high performance outcomes require new, entrepreneurial organizational practices to promote both collaboration within the firm and cooperation between firms. The research of the I&O-programme studies such practices as relational contracting, networked organizations, team formation, and incentive and reporting structures, as well as ways of accounting for and controlling information exchange. The strategic use of an appropriate mix of these practices can assist firms to be innovative and thereby to achieve higher performance outcomes.
The Innovation & Organization Research programme integrates the work of scholars from the Innovation Management & Strategy and the Management Accounting departments.
