Hannah Arendt Fellowships
Starting in 2026, the state of Lower Saxony will fund the Hannah Arendt Fellowships to support excellent international research in the humanities, cultural, and social sciences.
Each year, up to ten international researchers (early career to established scholars) are invited for a six-month research stay at universities or non-university institutions in Lower Saxony, free from teaching duties and working closely with local hosts.
The fellowship encourages interdisciplinary exchange around an annual theme, with 2026 focusing on “Democracy.”
