Rita Balech was awarded the MARE Publication Grant to support her research on funerary structures from the Classical period (4^th century BC – 4^th century AD) in Lebanon. Her publication will focus on the architecture, surviving decoration and inscriptions of hypogea from the Bekaa Valley, and offer important insights into the burial habits in the region.
