
Genetics team in Academic Prize final
The team from the Dept. of Genetics, UMCG, is one of five teams selected to present their plan in the final round of the Academische Jaarprijs 2010 (Annual Academic Prize). This prize is awarded for the best presentation of a scientific research project to the general public. The main prize of 100,000 euro will be awarded to the team with the most creative communication plan so that they can implement their proposal.
A total of 27 plans were submitted. The jury, under the leadership of Rick van der Ploeg, selected 5 plans and announced the finalists this week. The final will take place on Wednesday 27 October in the Stadsgehoorzaal in Leiden.

The Academische Jaarprijs was initiated to stimulate scientific communication in the Netherlands.
