Dr María Lorena Flórez Rojas and Dr Nynke Vellinga launch interactive game
University Lecturer in Technology Law María Lorena Flórez Rojas and Senior Researcher in Technology and Law Nynke Vellinga recently launched the first phase of the interactive game “You Are Hired.” The game offers an experiential learning experience where students face real legal and technological challenges.
Legal and regulatory landscape for remote operators
Students from the LL.M. programme in Technology Law and Innovation were tasked with navigating the complex legal and regulatory landscape for remote operators in Connected and Automated Vehicles (CAVs). Through this hands-on experience, students research, analyse, and present on regulatory, liability, and compliance issues while developing policy recommendations.
Engaging with stakeholders beyond the legal field, students refine their interdisciplinary skills, addressing key questions from technical oversight to liability debates.
Experiential learning and interdisciplinary collaboration
The game "You Are Hired" provides students with an immersive experience, simulating real-world legal consultancy in the field of technology law. A special thank you to Mark van Dijk, Mark Vroegop, and Florentine te Lindert - Mink from RDW for hosting us, and to our external advisor Nynke Vellinga for her invaluable guidance.
Students not only developed policy recommendations but also gained hands-on experience in stakeholder engagement, problem-solving, and regulatory analysis beyond the legal sector. This collaboration is an example of how we integrate experiential learning and interdisciplinary engagement into our curriculum.
