María Lorena Flórez Rojas, assistant professor of Technology Law at our faculty, has been invited to participate in the UNESCO Network of Experts on the Rule of Law and Artificial Intelligence. She has also been appointed as an editor for the open-access journal Data & Policy.

UNESCO Network

The UNESCO Network of Experts on the Rule of Law and Artificial Intelligence brings together experts globally to address the challenges and opportunities posed by AI in the context of legal frameworks and the rule of law. The network focuses on fostering interdisciplinary collaboration and developing guidelines to ensure ethical and responsible use of AI in legal systems.

As part of her appointment to this network, Flórez Rojas has been invited to provide training to judges from different Member States in relation to the use of AI in the judiciary.

Editorial Role with Cambridge University Press

The open-access journal Data & Policy is published by Cambridge University Press. Within that editorial team, Flórez Rojas will be part of the Area 5 Committee, which focuses on algorithmic governance. Her role involves contributing to the discourse on data-drive policymaking and exploring the ethical considerations surrounding governance frameworks and artificial intelligence.
