Prof. Panos Merkouris

On 4 October 2018, Prof. Panos Merkouris delivered a presentation on the topic of ‘ Protection of the Environment as the Object of and Tool for Evolutionary Interpretation ’. He argued that environmental rules and considerations can be not only the focal point (the object) of evolutive interpretation, but also the tool through which such an interpretation can be arrived at. This is true not only for international but domestic jurisprudence as well. His presentation took place in the context of a conference on Evolutionary Interpretation in Different International Legal Systems organized by the University of Geneva.

(the first video file [Thursday afternoon]. The presentation starts at 202:46)

Prof. Merkouris’ presentation was based on his research in the context of the TRICI-Law project, which has received funding from the European Research Council (ERC) under the European Union's Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme (grant agreement No759728).
