Renato Armanelli Gibson

There were three main reasons why I´ve chosen the University of Groningen, so far away from my hometown. Firstly because of the programme itself. It is a very rich and comprehensive programme, mixing traditional topics with modern ones. The second reason is because the whole programme was in English. And the last reason is because it is in Europe. I love the continent, and I always longed for living and studying there for a while.

Despite my very high expectations, there was no disappointment at all. On the contrary, I was quite surprised during the twelve months I spent over there. Netherlands, and Groningen especially, made me feel at home. The staff from the University, namely through the International Office, are used to deal with people from all around the world. It is incredible how they manage to help us students, coping with different kinds of situation, concerning the academy or not. The teachers are amazing as well. Very well prepared and helpful, we can learn a lot from them.

It took just a few weeks to adapt to the new LLM student life in the Netherlands. But, it will take a lifetime to forget the amazing moments spent in Groningen.
