Application deadline

Important notice

The application round for the 2021-2022 intake is now closed. The application round for the 2022-2023 intake will open in October 2021, and the specific admissions requirements for that intake will only be available then.

The application in Studielink must be initiated before May 1st 2022, and all essential application documents for an admission decision (conditional or full) must be submitted before this date. Please note English language proficiency tests are not required at the time of application but can be submitted at a later date. Please contact the admissions office directly at llm.admission for further information regarding final deadlines for submitting proficiency tests and include your application number and name in your email.

The admission procedure can take up to six weeks. All applicants should take this into consideration when they are dealing with the various scholarship and visa application deadlines. The responsibility for making all deadlines fully lies with the student.

Please note, our LLMs currently only begin in September 1st of each year. There is no February start date (like some other degree programmes at the University of Groningen).

IMPORTANT: For non-EU applicants that require a visa to study in the Netherlands, please contact the Immigration Service Desk for final deadlines for visa applications for studies beginning in September 2021. It is highly reccomended to apply to LLM programmes as soon as possible with all required documents to ensure adequate time for visa application. Are you not sure if you require a visa to study in the Netherlands? You can check here.

PLEASE NOTE: Students, whose participation is dependent upon receipt of a scholarship from any organization, should be aware that they first have to be admitted to the programme before they can apply for a scholarship. The deadlines of scholarship programmes may vary.
