The Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) and IBM have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to confirm and continue their collaboration. Both partners look forward to intensifying their cooperation on projects in the areas of skills, curriculum development, and research.

The academic and collaborative interests in this alliance are initially focused in areas such as Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, Data Science, Internet of Things and design thinking. As significant numbers of recent FEB alumni have found jobs at IBM and IBM is continuously on the lookout for new talent, there are already many connections between FEB and IBM. Solidifying this relationship is a logical next step.

Unique opportunity for students

FEB has worked with IBM on several student projects before. In the FC Groningen Challenge for example, students were part of an international and multidisciplinary team and worked on a real-life digital business challenge faced by FC Groningen, one of the most renowned professional football clubs in the Netherlands.

Under the new MoU, students will have more opportunities to partner with IBM on projects. This can for instance include individual internships, student teams carrying out research projects on a specific topic for IBM, and guest lectures by IBM colleagues.
