Nienke Bastiaans new Managing Director Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies
As of 1 Juli 2019, Drs Nienke Bastiaans will be the new Managing Director of the faculty of Theology and Religious Studies and member of the Faculty Board. She will succeed Drs Philip Broeksma, who is now alderman for traffic and transport in the municipality of Groningen. Until 1 July, Dr Rita Landeweerd, managing director of the Faculty of Behavioural and Social Sciences, will keep serving as managing director ad-interim.
Nienke Bastiaans (48) studied Educational Sciences at the University of Groningen and has held several positions at UG’s Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB) since 1995. At first as a policy advisor in the field of education and as secretary of FEB’s Faculty Board. In 2009, she became head of the Educational Quality, Marketing, International Affairs, Communications department at FEB. Since 2014, she is the managing director of the Education & Communication Services department where she supervises 75 employees.
We are delighted that she now will make a transfer to the Faculty of Theology and Religious Studies and we warmly welcome her to the faculty community. We are looking forward to working with her!
