On Thursday 7 June 2018, Professor
, winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2016, was honoured by a bronze bust and the publication of a book (Real Nano). Together with Professor Sibrand Poppema, President of the UG Board, he unveiled the bust in the Academy Building. Both University of Groningen Nobel Laureates, Professor Zernike and Professor Feringa, have now been honoured with bronze busts.
M1 grants have an amount of around EUR 360,000 and are intended for realizing curiosity-driven, fundamental research of high quality and / or scientific urgency.
