NWO research talent grant for Nynke Niezink (ICS RUG, year group 2012)
Nynke Niezink, Marijtje van Duijn and Tom Snijders (Department of Sociology) received a NWO research talent grant 2012 for the research proposal “Co-Evolution of Networks and Real-Valued Actor Attributes”.
In the project, the stochastic actor-oriented model for co-evolution of network and behavior, is extended to include continuous dependent attribute variables, using models based on stochastic differential equations. The new model will lift the limitation of the current definition that restricts it to ordinal discrete variables. Thus, a wider applicability is achieved of models for the d ynamics of s ocial networks and individual attributes of the actors constituting the network.
