Message of mortality

27 July 2012

To all staff of the faculty,

This morning we received the very sad news that Wijbrandt van Schuur (until recently asosociate professor in Sociology) passed away on July 25, as a result of a car accident in the US. Wijbrandt retired in August last year, after having worked more than 35 years at the department of Sociology, strongly committed to both research and teaching.

We are shocked by this news and we will, in coordination with the sociology directors, express our condolences on behalf of the faculty, as soon as we have received more information from his family.

On behalf of the Faculty Board,

Henk Kiers
