Web cast prof Brakman: "Polish workers good for Dutch economy"

18 December 2007

It is good for Dutch economy that Polish workers come to the Netherlands”

Restrict the flow of Polish and other Eastern European workers to the Dutch labour market? Not necessary, according to Professor International Economics Steven Brakman of the Faculty of Economics ans Business of the University of Groningen.

This week there was a summit in Rotterdam on the problems caused by Eastern European migrants in major Dutch cities. Some politicians want to make restrict the number of Eastern European people coming to work in the Netherlands.

Steven Brakman explains in the webcast why the workers shouldn’t be seen as a threat to the Dutch economy.
