The Chamber of Commerce recently gave a presentation for local businessmen in a packed auditorium at the Eemscentrale. Mr Abel Nieveen was the chairman for the evening, and three talks and two workshops were held. Marco Verbeek, Plant Manager of the Eemscentrale, talked about the unique environment around the Eemscentrale, and Jaap Wolters, head of the Groningen Chamber of Commerce, spoke about the opportunities being created in the Eemshaven due to the rapid economic development.

Harm Post, CEO of Groningen Seaports, revealed the future investments that will take place in the Eemshaven using the 3D facilities of the Centre for High Performance Computing and Visualisation. Examples of major investments include Nuon's new multi-fuel power plant, the new LPG terminal and the RWE power plant.
