Laura Bringmann appointed Adjunct Professor: Innovation in Mental Health Assessment

Laura Bringmann has been promoted to Adjunct Professor. Her research focuses on improving the reliability and usability of data collected via the Experience Sampling Method (ESM) — a method in which individuals complete brief questionnaires about their feelings, thoughts, and context multiple times a day.

With her interdisciplinary approach — combining ESM data with social networks, open-ended questions, and machine learning — Bringmann makes significant contributions to both scientific research and clinical practice. She demonstrates that existing analytical methods often fall short and develops new models that better reflect the complex reality of psychological issues.

Bringmann is co-founder of the research initiative Measurement is the New Black and active within the Stress in Action consortium. In the coming years, she aims to further integrate qualitative data and artificial intelligence, with the goal of enabling personalized care and deeper insight into mental health.
