Prof. Helga de Valk appointed honorary professor Migration and Life course

Prof. Helga de Valk has been appointed Honorary Professor Migration and Life course at the Faculty of Spatial Sciences. The appointment is a direct result of the collaboration between the University of Groningen and the Netherlands Interdisciplinary Demographic Institute (NIDI).
De Valk studied Sociology and Pedagogy at the University of Utrecht, where she obtained her doctorate in 2006. She is theme group leader 'Migration and migrants' at NIDI and Professor of Migration, Families and the Life Course at the Free University of Brussels.
