NVAO re-accreditation for twenty FEB degree programmes
Twenty degree programmes of the Faculty of Economics and Business (FEB), including all sixteen Bachelor and Master degree programmes and the executive Masters, have been awarded the NVAO re-accreditation. The re-accreditation was achieved following an extensive and rigorous evaluation of the Faculty by the NVAO panel in June 2022.
The re-accreditation is credited to the hard work of FEB’s staff and students: the faculty has been able to maintain an impeccable standard and achieve re-accreditation. Manda Broekhuis, the Vice Dean for education: “This accreditation demonstrates the high quality of our education. We know this and our aim is to express this clearly to the outside world. We can be very proud of what and how we teach in all our programmes”.
Feedback from the panel
In their feedback document, the NVAO panel mentioned the following positive points (among others):
-
The panel considers the interdisciplinary approach to research and education in the FEB programmes to be a good response to the changes in society.
-
The panel appreciates that FEB has created more internship opportunities for bachelor students in response to students’ requests and the 2016 NVAO recommendation.
-
The teaching staff of FEB is of good quality, highly engaged, and have considerable research expertise which they use in their teaching.
This NVAO accreditation was linked to the AACSB accreditation.
About NVAO
Accreditation by the independent Accreditation Organisation of the Netherlands and Flanders (Nederlands-Vlaamse Accreditatieorganisatie, NVAO) indicates that a degree programme or institution meets pre-established quality standards as defined in the accreditation or assessment framework. This framework aligns with the Dutch or Flemish National Qualifications Framework for Higher Education and the European Standards and Guidelines set for accreditation at the European level. The NVAO makes decisions based on an advisory report from an independent panel of experts (visitation panel), who assess the relevant degree programme or institution through peer review, using the NVAO's evaluation framework.
