AACSB accreditation Groningen Faculty of Economics and Business extended
AACSB International has just announced that the accreditation of the Faculty of Economics and Business has been extended for an additional 5 years. This re-accreditation was awarded after a strict and extensive quality check. The initial AACSB accreditation was awarded in 2011. FEB had already obtained the prestigious EQUIS label earlier. The combination of both the EQUIS and AACSB accreditations is only reserved for the global top 1% of business schools.
The AACSB committee praised FEB for its strong commitment to quality and quality improvement. One of the strengths according to the report is the high-quality student engagement: “Students are actively involved in educational experiences, in both academic and professional settings, and are able to apply these experiences in meaningful ways.” The committee also praises FEB’s internationalization efforts to broaden cultural perspectives. We are very pleased that the AACSB committee did not have any concerns that should be addressed prior to our next re-accreditation.
Dean of the Faculty Professor Herman de Jong was delighted to hear the news: “We are proud that our AACSB accreditation has been extended. It proves that our quality and performances continue to meet the high norms. This guarantees that current, but also future, researchers and students can work and learn in an environment of excellence. Besides that the report recognizes that our internationalization efforts are successful.”
