Get Started Events
A good start is essential for study success and enjoying your time in Groningen. In order to make the most out of your stay in Groningen, it is necessary to get induced to your new (academic) environment. In the week before courses start, the university organizes various activities that will help you arranging practical matters and finding your way around the university and the city. We expect all students to attend these compulsory events. When booking your plane ticket and/or accommodation, please make sure to arrive in Groningen in time!
Get Started Events / Fall semester
|t.b.a.||Movin' to Groningen: from 7AM to 8PM there will be a team of friendly, enthusiastic and very helpful students at Schiphol Airport to help you on your way to Groningen. They will be clearly recognizable as they are wearing the UG red, and will hover between the central meeting point and arrival gates. Please let us know when you are arriving.|

Faculty Get Started Event: during this event, you will receive your welcome kit. Also, we will provide you with a lot of practical information about studying at FEB and you will meet your mentor for the first time. Find more detailed programme information here.
► Compulsory to attend since missing out on the Faculty Get Started means a bad study start! Starts at 8:30 am. Location: Faculty of Economics and Business, hall 5419.0015 at Zernike campus, Kapteynborg, Landleven 22, 9747 AD Groningen map
► If you are unable to attend the Get Started Event, and you have a valid reason, you should inform the Exchange Office well in advance! You should realize that you will have a more difficult study start and arriving late may also have consequences for course participation since most lecturers do not allow late-arrivals to join the tutorial groups once these have started.

Welcoming Ceremony for all international students of the university.
1-4.30PM. Location: Oosterpoort. More detailed information can be found here. During the Welcoming Ceremony, you can also register for the ESN Introduction week.

Mentor sessions and Campus Tour for FEB exchange students.
9.30 AM-1 PM. During this mandatory event you will receive lots of important information on studying at FEB and explore the campus. You will receive information on where and when the mentor sessions will take place during the Get Started Event on Thursday.

ESN buddy system: In order to make your stay in Groningen as enjoyable as possible, ESN Groningen is able to provide you with your own buddy. Your buddy can pick you up from the station, help you get through the first few days after your arrival and can help you with some practical things that need to be done. Your buddy will help you further with getting familiar with activities of the association and all the other possibilities of extra-curricular activities provided for you! In addition, it will be easier for you to get in touch with international and national business students in Groningen. Please fill in the application form if you would like to have a buddy.
