Educational and examination facilities
If you experience significant obstacles due to your specific circumstances, it is wise to contact your study advisor well before the summer break. The study advisor can give you a realistic picture of possible bottlenecks during your studies and of the educational and exam facilities you can count on. This information is important when making an informed study choice!
The UG offers educational and exam facilities for students with a chronic illness or functional impairment (such as ASD, ADHD, dyslexia, or a physical or sensory impairment). If you wish to be considered for these facilities, it is advisable to submit your application before or during the summer vacation. In some cases, this can be done quickly online, but sometimes an appointment with a study advisor and/or student counselor is required first. All information about the application process for facilities can be found in our digital information tool.
This flyer provides a clear step-by-step plan for applying for accommodations.**
Please note that educational and examination facilities at Dutch universities may differ from what you are used to in other countries. In some countries these facilities are more extensive, while in others they are comparable or more limited. These differences may result from variations in the role of universities in health care, public or private funding structures (including tuition fees), and how concepts such as reasonableness and feasibility are interpreted. We therefore advise you to take these differences into account. If you would like more information about the facilities available at the UG before your arrival, please contact us at ssc-info rug.nl. One of our student counsellors will be happy to advise you, taking your personal circumstances into consideration.
