‘I feel like the Wright brothers when they flew for the first time and people asked, “why do we need a flying machine?”’ Ben Feringa, professor in chemistry at the Universtity of Groningen, winner of the Nobel Prize in Chemistry 2016. He started his journey at the university as a student in Chemistry, and also did a PhD. Since 1988 Feringa has been professor of Nanotechnology and Synthetic Organic Chemistry. His work has received both national and international recognition, with a Nobel Prize in Chemistry in 2016.
