Gender (amongst other things) can still be an issue looking at the higher levels in the workplace, both inside and outside academia. Women for example are still underrepresented there. Why is this so, and how might this affect how you see your own leadership potential? In this interactive series of workshops we will investigate what makes you powerful as a leader. What can you do to become more empowered and bring balance to the current ‘imbalance’? And also we'll support you in finding out what your personal leadership style is.

We start the course with a lecture and discussion on the research findings regarding gender and power, which might shape how you view your own leadership ambitions. The two subsequent sessions allow you to put what you have learnt into practice, focussing hands-on exercises in role-playing and communication skills.

By the end of the course you will
a) have gained insight into the research on gender and leadership (first session)
b) have gained practical skills to help your realise your own leadership potential, either inside or outside academia (second and third session).

Please note that in order to receive the credits for this course, active participation and attendance at all 3 meetings is required.
