Introduction

You started a career at the university. What will be your next step?

You want to prepare for your next career step. You want to be able to reflect on your values and believes. You need to know your strong points (and weak points). You like to learn the power of networking. You wonder about your labour market opportunities and (international) perspectives.

Aim

This course is aimed at bringing clarity to career development for postdocs, teachers and other temporary (academic) staff.

You will

  • have insight into personal and career goals (your choices);
  • be able to present those goals;
  • enhance your practical career skills (in a global world);
  • be able to formulate an action plan and act accordingly.

Intended for

Postdocs, Teachers and other academic staff with a temporary appointment.

Competences

Initiative, networking skills, communication, self-reflection.

Content

Our approach focuses on strengths and possibilities. Participants will be provided with a systematic process for exploring career needs, focusing on current their position, desired destination and unique personal resources (subjects of interest, sills, values, style). After the three days participants will have their own action plan for career development. But more importantly, they will be able to act on that action plan and take their career to the next level.
