What is a Student for a Day?

The Student for a Day is a one-day event where you can experience what it is like to be a student from one of the bachelor’s programmes at Campus Fryslân.

You will learn everything about the programme, have the possibility to join a class and can have a look around the building. Students and staff share their experiences and show you what you can expect when you would become a student at one of our programmes.

Why join a Student for a Day?

1. Confirm your choice

You might have read some information about the bachelor, or even visited an Open Day in Groningen. But because of the various aspects, the Student for a Day is a great way to find out if this programme is something for you.

2. Join a class

Our classes are not like the traditional lectures and tutorials that you might find at other programmes. We have interactive classes where everyone contributes. By joining a real class, you get the best idea about how we educate our students.

3. Look around the building

We are located in De Beurs, in Leeuwarden. This building dates back to 1880 and was used as a trade center. De Beurs had many functions later on, from an exhibition area to a place to party or play sports.
Right before Campus Fryslân moved here, it functioned as a city library. During the Student for a Day, you can look at the old features of the building combined with the modern interior.

Who is the Student for a Day for?

The Student for a Day is designed for everyone who would like to know if the programme is a good fit for them. While the Open Day gives a broader overview of the programme, the Student for a Day is especially useful for students who have already shortlisted a programme. We dive deeper into the material and show you more examples of what you can expect

When and where is the Student for a Day?

Three times a year we host a Student for a Day for each bachelor programme. Each Student for a Day happens approximately two weeks after the Open Day, usually in November, February and April. For the exact dates of the upcoming Student for a Day at Campus Fryslân, have a look at our calendar!

To get the best experience, the Student for a Day takes place in our Faculty building De Beurs in Leeuwarden. We always schedule the day in a way that you can arrive on time and leave at a reasonable time, even if you have to travel for a couple of hours.

Just come and see for yourself!
