Alumni are cordially invited to the second University of Groningen alumni evening in Berlin. An opportunity to catch up with fellow alumni and share ideas for the chapter. Moreover, we are honoured that world famous UG professor Mladen Popovic is joining us. He is an expert on the Dead Sea Scrolls, the manuscripts that were found in the Qumran caves and are of great historical, religious, and cultural significance. They form the roots of western society.

Prof. Mladen Popovic | Qumran Institute
Mladen Popović is Tenure Professor for Hebrew Bible and Ancient Judaism, with special attention for Qumran and the Dead Sea Scrolls. Popović is head of the Qumran Institute of the University of Groningen, which has a leading role in the study of the Dead Sea Scrolls. Popović was curator of the unique exhibition of the Dead Sea Scrolls in the Drents Museum. It was the first time in the Netherlands that an entire exhibition was dedicated to this famous discovery.
